Ariel Cyber Innovation Center (ACIC) produces and promotes leading edge theoretical and applied cyber security research. The center was founded on the premise that Israel - and, by extension, the world – is in pressing need of innovative real-world solutions, both immediate and sustainable, to the complexities of current and emerging issues on all cyber security frontiers. Established in 2013, the cenetr is currently a focal point of multi-disciplinary activity and next generation innovation. ACIC is headed by Major General (reserves) Ami Shafran, with academic leadership from researchers in the Department of Computer Science. Departmental participation is rich and diverse, including faculty from Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Social Sciences, and Criminology.
ACIC's primary objective is to offer robust infrastructure for all cyber security research and development: Information security and management, computer and mobile network protection, cryptography, security regulation and compliance, secure software development, criminology, and anomaly detection represent a sampling of the center's interests. ACIC aims to solidify its leadership role in the community of cyber security practitioners. Building itself up as a hub of intra- and inter- institutional collaboration, ACIC ultimately promotes the excellence of the Ariel University brand.
ACIC vigorously encourages cooperation with academic institutions, industries, governmental organizations, and across public and financial sectors. The center is also committed to the next generation of cyber security professionals, and supports young researchers so that they embody the highest ethical and professional standards. ACIC, therefore, represents an exciting vision, one that makes a significant contribution to the national cybersecurity agenda.
